Alejandro Alban Porras

Alejandro Porras Segovia is a specialist in Psychiatry and a doctor in Clinical Medicine and Public Health by the University of Granada. He trained as a psychiatrist at the University Hospital San Cecilio of Granada (2014-2018) and carried out his first international stay in 2016 at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. In 2018 he started working as an attending psychiatrist at the University Hospital Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid. In 2019 he defended his international thesis with outstanding marks, for which he obtained the 2nd prize for best doctoral thesis awarded by the Spanish Society of Biological Psychiatry.

In 2020 he obtained the Río Hortega grant and his work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Health Research Institute Fundación Jiménez with his work as a psychiatrist, attending child and adolescents at the University Hospital Rey Juan Carlos in Móstoles. In 2021 he carried out a second international stay at the INSERM of the University of Montpellier.
His current research focus is the application of new technologies to suicide prevention. He has 42 scientific publications in indexed journals and has an H index of 12 according to Google Scholar. He has participated as a speaker at several national and international psychiatry conferences. He has also supervised doctoral theses at the Autonomous University of Madrid and has been an honorary professor at the Nursing School at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
